What you'll see in one meeting
Prepared speeches
Members give speeches they've written and practised — from a brave, short Ice Breaker to advanced projects. Every one is a takeoff; every one lands with feedback.
Table Topics
Impromptu speaking: draw a question, get the microphone, speak for one to two minutes. Guests may try it if they'd like — and may always pass.
Evaluations
Every speech gets a kind, honest review: what worked, what to try next. This is how the climb happens — nobody climbs alone.
Getting off the ground is the only hard part.

Why people join
Adventurers Toastmasters has met beside the Van Nuys Airport since 1989, founded by two members from one of Toastmasters' most decorated clubs. Members come from all walks of life. What joins us is a shared project: getting better at thinking on our feet, speaking so people listen, and leading without shouting. Toastmasters International's program gives the flight plan; the club gives the crew.
You progress at your own pace — prepared speeches, roles you self-select, and leadership projects. Meetings average about a dozen people, so you're never lost in a crowd. Some members stay to win contests. Most stay for the people — and for the confidence they go home with.
